Computer and Halloween Safety Talk
Recently 5th and 6th classes got a talk from our local Gardaì. They came in and we sat in the hall. Then, they told us about how to be safe on Halloween. They talked about how fireworks and bonfires are illegal. They told us a story about how last year a boy set fire to a house because he was dared to put a firework in the letter box. The boy was arrested. Then, they told us that we need to be polite to older people. Sometimes they are scared so if you ring the doorbell once, don’t ring it again in case they don’t want to answer the door. Try to wear bright clothes because drivers and other adults cannot see you very well.
After, we got a talk about computer safety. They told us a couple of safety rules. 1|Don’t tell anyone your personal details while on the internet. 2|Don’t arrange to meet anyone I meet on the internet without my parent’s permission and supervision. 3| Always tell your parents everything that you send and receive on the internet.
